Mohamed Abdel Hady
Mohamed Abd El-Hady’s artworks have been a mirror reflecting social contemporary ideological conditions. They are originated from a courageous consciousness that decided to break into fantasy and exceed reality to the serialism of meaning and depth of value.
Abd El-Hady was born in Kafr El-Sheikh in 1977. His works have exceeded the space-time borders and gone through a new reality characterized by an invisible balance between serialism and reality. They appear as a display that harmonically unites black lines outlining components with colors. Therefore, the design dimension appears and creates a difficult equation in revealing the theme and how it is expressed.
His paintings and sculptures reveal his artistic experience that has come from a rich human experience. This experience is inspired by the human struggle and imagination throughout history, as it visualizes stories and dreams shared by the human race. Western art has gone far away from expression and simulation and turned into a paradoxical form that lacks clear philosophies. This was predicted by the sociologist Max Weber after the rise of modern art movements; his prediction was built on the idea of the absence of vision and feeling tragedy. On the other hand, Abd El-Hady succeeded to escape from such a trap, as he developed his expressive methods through creating a vision wherein structures explore the depth of mind away from the absurd chromatic dazzle. In addition, in his formations and symbols, he moved to the mental and philosophical depth combining perceptions and the soul. Thus, it creates a sense of delight in galvanizing all the senses, tempts the ears to listen to that whispering noise, and encourages to dive into the complicated human psyche and the congestions that cling to the state of feeling. All of this is done through internal signs full of metaphors, euphemism, and symbolism.
Abd El-Hady has been concerned with the idea of “The Other”, rather than searching for identity. In other words, he has been concerned at the human contradictions manifested in his bilateral artworks; The contradictions of the subjectivity of “ego” and the commonality of “The Other”, exclusiveness and emulation, and rebellion and dependence. All of these contradictions have been shown through his realistic characters: males and females, negative and positive components, and the utter, such as good and evil presented as angels and demons.
The boldness of the color compositions used in the artist’s artworks is precisely measured. In other words, red can be seen as the main component in most of his artworks. Despite his heated color palette, yes it contains that hidden sorrow presented in his formation and components. Abd El-Hady has not given up on the use of ark colors to express struggles; he used that heated color palette to create an artistic world including struggle and mister at the same time. This shows his awareness of deepening the effect of the psychological balance and his peace made with all the struggles presented by his main characters in an artwork.
Moreover, the serialism of his paintings is close to the man aim of serialism identified by Andre Breton as the expression of the subconscious in an automated artistic or a pure spontaneous way that the logic lacks. Abd El-Hady followed the surrealists in using real objects as symbols of their visions. He has been inspired by the historical human conflict and has made his paintings as a documentary that breaks all the established rules through being inspired by the ancient civilizations with their myths and turning them into a modern structure.
Reality may distort the future of humans; however, they are still alive and they will always be the heroes against the evil of rigidity and fakeness with art as a weapon.
Mohamed Abd El-Hady took part in many group galleries and salons in many different art genres, such as painting, sculpture, and installation art. His holdings are inside and outside Egypt.
