Running after infinite ideas till realizing that time passes as a shooting star has been the hardest challenge for the artist Hisham Abdullah Abd El-Mo’ty.
He was born in Al-Qalubiyah on the 9th of October, 1972. He graduated from the faculty of Specific Education, Benha University in 1995. He continued his postgraduate studies till he got a doctorate in the philosophy of art education from Helwan University in 2009. He works as a sculpture professor at the faculty of Specific Education, Benha University, and a member of Egypt’s Fine Artists Syndicate.
He held 4 individual exhibitions; the first one was at Sa’d Zaghloul Cultural center: Duality of the Universe 2015, the Zero Experience… Harvest (1) 2016, and Harvest 2 2020.
Abd El-Mo’ty took part in many individual galleries and national and international, such as the youth salons in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005, Harvest Gallery (25 years of Youth Salon) 2014, the 4th, 5th, and 6th Small Artworks Salon 2000, 2002, and 2003. Also, he took part in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th International Cairo Biennale for ceramic in 1996, 1998, and 2000, and won the committee prize, and the 6th and 8th Aswan Symposium, and won many appreciation certifications.
Moreover, he participated in the 27th, 28th, and 28th rounds of the National Fine Art Gallery 2001, 2003, and 2005 and the 31st to the 40th round of the Festival of Creative Fine Art: The Public Exhibition from 2008 to 2018. He also took part in the 6th and 7th National Port Said Biennale 2003 and 2005, and won its prize. In addition, Abd El-Mo’ty also participated in Cairo’s Scrap Sculpture Symposium 2013, the 4th Pottery Forum in Qina 2002, the 1st Sculpture Salon 2005, the 2nd one 2008, Contemporary Sculptures 2009, Faces 2009, Architecture with the Hands of Sculptors 2012, Sculptural Combinations with a Contemporary Vision 2014, October: A Peaceful Energy 2018, Manifesto 2019, A Capital’s Summer 2019, The Dialogues of the Faces and Places 2019, and Agenda 2020. Besides, his participation in the 56th, 57th, and 58th rounds of Cairo Salon 2012, 2016, and 2018.
On the global level, he took part in the Contemporary Egyptian Art Gallery in Athens that is in parallel with the 2004 Olympics, the 4th International Madinty Art Symposium 2017, and the Egyptian Discussion Gallery in Italy 2018.
His holdings are in the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art, Aswan Open Air Museum, the New Ceramic Museum in the 15th of May city, the General Authority for Cultural Palaces, and with individuals in Egypt and KSA.
